“Just an introduction of me”

Have a marvelous and enthusiastic day folks! It’s Gene Bayer who doesn’t have any right, except the right to live. Well,I just want to introduce myself. I’m presently studying at SKSU- Sultan Kudarat State University, taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English.

Lesson Plan

I. Objectives:

At the end of the session, the students must have:

a) identified idiomatic expressions in a given text;

b) participated actively in the groups’ activity; and

c) illustrated idiomatic expressions into drawing.

II. Subject Matter:

a. Topic: Idiomatic Expressions

b. Instructional Materials: Crayons, Bond Paper,

III. Instructional Procedure:

a. Preliminary Activities

b. Motivation:

- mini-dialogues are prepared for the students; they will do it by partner. These dialogues contains idiomatic expressions.

1. a: Who is he?

b: He is the guy whom you can count on in times of emergency.

a: Is that so?

2. a: Who are they?

b: They’re the workers who are clamor for an increase of wages.

a: Oh! I see.

3. a: What event was that?

b: It was an event that work out World War II.

4. a: What’s peace?

b: Peace is something that is hard to come by.

a: Why?

b: I dont know why.

IV. Discussion:

Idiomatic Expressions are phrases where the words have a meaning that is

different from a    dictionary definition of the individual words.

Examples:

Beat around the bush

Be good

Bank on

Bad actor

Back out

V. Activity:

Activity’s name: Draw me the idiom.

Instruction:

1. Visualize and illustrate literally  the given idiomatic expression using thew crayons and bond paper.

2. 2 minutes are given to finish the activity in every round.

3. The student, then, explain and give the meaning of the illustration.

VI. Evaluation:

Use the idiomatic expressions being presented in making sentences.

VII. Assignment:

Look for 1o idiomatic expressions and use it in the sentence.
